About the Presenters

Peggy Calhoun, ACFRE, began her career in 1978 as Executive Director of a suicide prevention line. Her extensive staff experience includes raising $3,700,000 in nine months for an art museum, overseeing a $60,000,000 national campaign for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation at UM, and concluding a capital campaign while increasing the endowment from $2,600,000 to $55,000,000 for The Salvation Army. Today she is President of Miller, Calhoun & Company, a firm credited with campaigns totaling more than $1,000,000,000 raised for a variety of causes.

DeAnn Hazey, CFRE

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - South Florida Chapter

DeAnn Hazey, CFRE, Executive Director of The South Florida Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has successfully executed fundraising campaigns for 27 years, raising $128 million cumulatively for organizations including 4KIDS of South Florida, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, National Association of College Stores Foundation, The Cleveland Orchestra, TRW and the American Heart Association. Hazey is the 2019 president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Broward/Fort Lauderdale Chapter.
